Peaceful Passings for Pets
About Us Steven E. Jefferson D.V.M., graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at U.C. Davis in 1969. Dr. Jefferson worked in two veterinary practices and served for four years as a Captain in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps before establishing his own veterinary practice in San Luis Obispo in 1975. After 27 years of private practice Dr. Jefferson “retired” then provided relief services to other veterinarians, worked in a veterinary emergency clinic, and currently performs surgical services for Woods Humane Society. Marianne Arnell, Dr. Jefferson’s wife, has devoted her life to caring for animals. She has rescued dogs and cats from unhealthy and inhumane situations. She has provided a loving home for animals that have been abandoned by their previous owners and animals that are too old or ill to be adopted. Marianne has extensive personal experience in dealing with the loss of a beloved pet and making the difficult decision to euthanize a companion animal. The Jefferson/Arnell family currently includes nine dogs, twelve cats, twelve pet mice, two rabbits, four tortoises, a pot-bellied pig, and a variety of birds including chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, guineas, quail, and peafowl.
